OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: shoe boxes will collected by November 16, so that they can be delivered to children in time for Christmas. Contact Jane Pascoe – 237-2015 or japascoe@aol.com with any questions!

CHURCH CONFERENCE: BOTH of our church charge conferences (CUMC and PFUMC) will be held on Sat, Nov. 8th from 2-4pm at the Warsaw UMC.

CHURCH LEADERS: several forms need to be filled out and sent to the District Office by October 25th and November 1st. Please check your mailboxes for the forms and dates that they need to be done by so that you can plan your meetings accordingly. If you have questions...please see Pastor Ray as soon as possible.

COVINGTON UMC HAM DINNER: October 11th from 4-7 PM. Adults $9 and Under 12 $4.50. Takeouts available.

CCYM FALL GATHERINGS: Fall Gathering – WEST Nov. 21-22, 2014 at Asbury First UMC, Rochester. Contact the church office or Pastor Ray soon for more information if you are interested in attending.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service for Dorothy Long will be held Saturday, October 4th at 2 PM at the Covington UMC.

WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY: is October 5th! On World Communion Sunday your gift helps to provide scholarships for national and international graduate students whom God has gifted to learn and to serve. Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” Because of your giving on World Communion Sunday, the most powerful tool to change the world is in more hands. Please give generously.

new special session of annual conference

Bishop Webb issues new call for special session

Bishop Mark J. Webb has announced that a special session of the Annual Conference will be convened as outlined in The Book of Discipline, paragraph 603.5. The purpose and call of the special session is to discuss and vote on a recommendation from the Conference Board of Trustees to purchase the property located at 7481 Henry Clay Blvd. in Liverpool as a new Conference Center. The special session will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, in the Ballroom at the OnCenter (800 S. State St., Syracuse). As stated in paragraph 603.5, "a special session of the annual conference shall have only such powers as are stated in the call."

Due to the changes in date and location, voting members of the Annual Conference will need to register for the Oct. 18 session - even if they previously registered for one of the September sessions. Registration is open now.

The Pre-Conference packet in color and black & white has been updated to reflect the changes to the special session format and is available in the special session section of the Conference website.
