The Women's Basketball team from Houghton College has the opportunity in August of 20 17 to go on a missions trip to Nicaragua through Ignite International. We are super excited about this unique opportunity. Ignite International is well-respected throughout Nicaragua, and we are looking to impact several lives through the gift of basketball. In various cities we will use our natural platform as athletes to reach others for Christ. We are looking to build relationships, just as other sports teams have done in the past. We are excited to extend Christ's love to the basketball community as only we can, and to plant our unique seeds in places they have not gone too! While we are there we will have an opportunity to:
*Visit impoverished areas and help feed elderly women, teens & adults
*Talk with women who have been harmed & violated
*Visit children in Orphanages or children’s homes
*Assist the community through outreach & humanitarian activities
*Join in and actively participate in Church Services
*Play Basketball – games, clinics, sharing our testimonies & lead devotionals
While a few have the opportunity to go physically, many make it happen ... and we are ALL called to impact our world. And so, I am asking you to prayerfully consider being part of my support team. First and foremost - Ignite, my team and I need your prayers! Also, to make this honor a reality, I need to raise the $2,350 necessary to cover all expenses.
