Pastor's Message for Weekend of March 20-22

Perry First United Methodist church 1:03 PM (6 hours ago) Greetings to our church family I pray you are doing well during this health crisis.  I wanted to update you, we have been notified through our conference office that we should close our church fully until further notice.  I will be allowed to continue bringing  you my weekly message from the sanctuary.   At this point, I have asked Sue not to prepare the April newsletter with so much changing hour by hour.   I would remind you to please keep sending your contributions in by mail. Our facebook page has my message for this week. ANDREW CUOMO Through the Governor’s Office for Faith Based Initiatives we’ve learned the Governor has clarified his guidance about the mandate that 100% of the workforce to stay home as it relates to houses of worship: Faith leaders can continue to record services and live stream using their equipment in their sanctuaries and are not required to do so from home. The Governor’s office, even with the emergency order in place, has said that “houses of worship are not ordered closed however it is strongly recommended no congregate services be held and social distance maintained” as noted in the definition of essential and nonessential.
