Opening
Song Blessed
Assurance vs. 1-2 #369
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. (Refrain)
Offertory Prayer
Generous God, your good gifts to us are too many to name! We
have been so blessed, not so that we might hide away these blessings, but to
use them so that the blessings might be multiplied. As we give from our
blessing stockpile, help it to multiply and grow. May our gifts empower
multiple acts of mercy and compassion, and may your love pour over this world
like a flood. If we have buried these gracious blessing, may today be the day
we dig them up and put them to work, so that we might be seen as your faithful
servants! Amen.
Scripture Micah
6:8 and 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
8 He has told you, O mortal,
what is good; and what does the Lord require
of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your
God?
5 Now concerning the
times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you do not need to have
anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves know
very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 When
they say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon
them, as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no
escape! 4 But you, beloved, are not in
darkness, for that day to surprise you like a thief; 5 for
you are all children of light and children of the day; we are not of the night
or of darkness. 6 So then let us not fall asleep as
others do, but let us keep awake and be sober; 7 for
those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at
night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be
sober, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope
of salvation. 9 For God has destined us not for
wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who
died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live with him. 11 Therefore
encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.

Song Soon and Very Soon #706
Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King;
Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King;
Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We’re going to see the King.
No more dying there, we are going to see the King;
No more dying there, we are going to see the King;
No more dying there, we are going to see the King.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We’re going to see the King.
No more crying there, we are going to see the King;
No more crying there, we are going to see the King;
No more crying there, we are going to see the King.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We’re going to see the King.
Benediction/Sending Forth
Go
in peace; love and care for one another in Christ's name, and may God bless you
with every gift needful for God’s work.
May the Spirit grant you the willingness to risk yourself completely for
the sake of the gospel, and may the love, the compassion, the hope and the
faith of Jesus dwell richly within you until the time of his coming, both now
and forevermore. Amen
