The PFUMC Heifer Project will run  at least the month of

October 2019. Our gifts of livestock and training empower

people to set their sights high. Then through their own hard work, determination and ingenuity, build thriving communities and achieve a dignified income. Families who receive your gift become donors as they pass on the gift to other families in their community. This allows them to help others as you have helped them.  Donations can be placed in the “Cow” buckets or just mark your donation for Heifer Project.

Unsure of arrangements at this time. Judy and I are headed to Vermont.

Sundae SundaySept. 29th

Plan ahead for this Sunday, the 29th. Perry First United Methodist Church will be having an impromptu Ice Cream Sundae Social after the 11:00 am service. There will be plenty of ice cream, syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles and nuts. Anything you would like to bring, feel free. See you then!

Betty Croop's memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 28th, at 11:00 AM at the Avon United Methodist Church.

Betty Croop's memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 28th, at 11:00 AM at the Avon United Methodist Church.

In Memoriam

Betty Croop, wife of the late Reverend Bertrand Croop, died suddenly on Friday, August 30th, about 6:00 am. The possible cause of death is thought to be a heart attack. Betty and Bert were residents of the Silver Lake Institute, members of Perry First United Methodist Church, and Betty continued to attend Worship Services at Epworth on occasion after she moved closer to her son. Betty was present a week ago at Jo Vineyard's memorial service. She is survived by a son, daughter, and grandchildren. As details are made known, they will be published. In the meantime, please keep the family in prayer.

In Memoriam

Joanne W. Vineyard

PUBLISHED: MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2019 AT 3:08 PM

PERRY — Pastor (Ret) Joanne W. Vineyard passed away Aug. 8, 2019 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. George D. Vineyard. She is survived by her two children David Vineyard of Pavilion, N.Y. and Theodore (Tedd) Vineyard of Brockport, N.Y. and two siblings Henry Walldorff of Dunkirk, N.Y. and Nancy Harvey of Norfolk Beach, Va.

She attended Cornell University where she met her husband George. They moved to Belmont, N.Y. in the early 1950s where they lived for many decades before moving to become a local Pastor in Sardinia.

Over the years her hobbies included water skiing, quilting, walking, and she was an avid stamp collector.

Joanne was a lifelong supporter of the church. When her children were grown, she completed seminary and became a United Methodist Pastor serving churches in Sardinia and in Gainesville N.Y. before retiring. She continued to be a member of the First Methodist Church in Perry N.Y. until her death. She and her husband supported many missions and missionaries throughout the world. Joanne was an active member and officer of the United Methodist Women’s Group(s) for most of her life.

A memorial service for Jo will be held on Sunday, August 25th, at 2:00 PM at Perry UMC, 35 Covington, Perry, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to: American Cancer Society, any Hospice Home near you, or the University of Rochester Medical Center.
