Pastor Ray Noell of the Perry First United Methodist Church, couldn't have been more pleased with the results of their Perry church's Bicentennial Celebration (200th Anniversary) today from 11 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. Upper New York Bishop Mark Webb, and Genesee Valley District Superintendent, the Rev. Vonda Fossitt, were the special guests for the worship service and the luncheon that followed. Both were introduced at the beginning of the Service by Pastor Ray.

Bishop Webb was the guest speaker of the morning and also the officiant of the Service of Holy Communion, assisted by the Reverends Noell, Fossitt, and former pastor (Dr. Doug) Wilson. Former pastor, the Rev. Greg Franklin was also present for the Service and Luncheon. Former pastor, the Rev. Harold Collier was able to join the celebration during the time of the Luncheon.

Retired clergywomen, the Rev. Joanne Brocklehurst and the Rev. Joanne Vineyard were also present for the Service and Luncheon. The Rev. Eric Kelly, a music teacher in the York School system, and originally a member at Perry First, is now also a licensed pastor at Perry Center Church. Eric was also able to be present at the Luncheon.

The dinner was catered by the Charcoal Corral and included deep fried chicken and sliced roast beef, rolls, an antipasta salad and small salt potatoes halved and fried. Vanilla and chocolate cake for dessert.  Appreciation was publicly expressed to the Charcoal Corral for their excellent service. Many thanks to the Anniversary Committee and especially its chair, Donna Noell. The celebration will continue in various ways throughout the year.
