Sue Spellicy
Please keep the family of Sue Spellicy in your prayers. Sue passed away on Feb. 5th. I have included her obituary information below.
She was born Feb. 10, 1928 in Oakfield, a daughter of Frederick A. and Fern Agnes (Notzke) Bernard and was a graduate of Perry High School. On June 8, 1946, she married Patrick Spellicy in Perry. “Sue” was an Industrial Engineer at Champion, a high position for a woman at that time. In later years, following Patrick’s recovery from a health issue, they initiated a walking program. The two of them became known as the Perry “walking duo” for 20 years, braving any weather condition, while logging in miles a day. They retired from Champion on the exact same day, always supporting each other’s ideas. Patrick predeceased her on March 1, 2008. Sue and her husband were big fans of the Perry Central High School boys’ basketball teams, and went to every game, home or away, to keep the stats for the team, while watching from the stands. She had been a member of the Perry Bowling League for several years. Sue was a creative and talented crafter; crochet, needlework, quilting and won many blue ribbons at local fairs over the years. She was a master crossword puzzle addict. Grammy/G.G. loved spending time with her grandchildren, they were the light of her life! Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Spellicy of Webster, Dr. Michael and Anjanette Spellicy of Madison; grandchildren, Erika (David) Thall of Cassville, Ian Spellicy of Chicago, Ill., Patrick Spellicy of Fredonia, Madelin Spellicy of Madison; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Cayson Thall of Cassville; a sister, Patricia Bathrick of Castile and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Carl Bernard. Services will be held at the convenience of her family with interment in the Glenwood Cemetery in Perry, alongside her husband Contributions in her memory may be made to the Perry Sports Boosters, c/o Perry High School, 33 Watkins Ave., Perry, NY 1453
